Barcelona ‘s United States right-back Serginho Dest may switch to Ajax Amsterdam’s Moroccan right-back Nussair Mazraoui.

As reported on Friday, Barcelona are in talks with Ajax Amsterdam. To make a swap deal between 21-year-old American right-back Serginho Dest and 24-year-old Moroccan defender Nussair Masraoui 

Barcelona paid €21 million plus €5 million in bonuses to bring Dest from Ajax Amsterdam. In the summer of 2020, however, the United States full-back has failed to perform as Azulgra has expected, with the club reportedly potentially releasing the 21-year-old at Camp Nou. with both Bayern Munich and Chelsea interested in accepting players from the Catalan giants

However, reports from AS claim Barcelona are in advanced talks with Ajax Amsterdam. In an exchange between Dest and Masraoui, the 24-year-old right-back is also keen on a move to Azul Grana. After the Moroccan back is in the final year of his contract with the agency.

His contract in Amsterdam comes to an end next summer.

Dest appears to have fallen out of favour with new boss Xavi despite being a regular starter under previous manager Ronald Koeman.

His opportunities have been further limited by niggling groin and back problems.

Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta is another full-back target in Catalonia, although the 32-year-old recently indicated he would rather stay in London.
